Giving Opportunities

As St. Paul advised the Christian community of Corinth “Let each one give what he has decided in his heart…for God loves a cheerful giver” (cf. 2 Corinthians 9:7). And for your great generosity, as St. Paul went on to say, “You will be enriched in every way… which through us will produce thanksgiving to God; for the rendering of this service not only supplies the wants of the saints but also overflows in many thanksgivings to God” (2 Corinthians 9:11-12).

Prayer

“One form of prayer moves us particularly to take up the task of evangelization and to seek the good of others: it is the prayer of intercession…intercessory prayer does not divert us from true contemplation, since authentic contemplation always has a place for others.”

Taking Pope Francis’ words to heart, we encourage you to pray for our community, which includes the monks, faculty, staff and the college and high school seminarians. Your prayer intentions communicated to us are also a very important part of our mission to the Church and the world.

 – Pope Francis, Evangelii Gaudium, 281

Benedictine Education Fund

103,000

Current Status

A projected education fund of $200 000 was begun on the fiftieth anniversary of the monastery for the education of our young monks in the major seminary, for their advanced degree studies, and for updating the faculty. This was a cause very dear to the heart of the late Father Abbot Eugene Medved, our first Abbot.

The Fund has been slowly progressing towards its goal. With several of the community now taking vocational and advanced course of study at other institutions, contributions would be much appreciated at this time to:
